We headed up to Snowbird for the weekend with Anna and the girls. It was so much fun. On Friday night we went to the BYU game and Jess and Olivia came. Jossiah stayed home with my Mom. After the game everyone went up to meet Anna at Snowbird, I went to pick up Jossiah. The following morning Tyler picked me up and we headed up there. It was so pretty-the leaves were changing and it felt like fall. We went swimming and then walked around Oktoberfest. Then we went hiking. Crosby did such an awesome job hiking by himself. Aaron carried Jossiah in the baby Bjorn. We meet Tyler for dinner at Porcupine cafĂ©. They had the best beef stroganoff I have seriously ever had! The next day we went and did the alpine slide and the fun activities up there. Crosby jumped off the bungee jump, it was crazy. He is so daring, he didn’t even think twice about it, the man opened the gate and said one…two…three jump and he jumped! It was beautiful outside, I just love snuggling up to Jossiah in the Bjorn, life is pretty awesome!!

First Month
Jossiah is such a sweet baby. He is so calm and mellow. He loves being held and right now he is
eating every two hours and sleeping a whole bunch. In his first month of life he went the Long
Beach Aquarium, the San Deigo zoo and the Beach on several occasions. People keep stopping to ask me how old he is
and I have been lying and saying a couple of months:) This first month has been
full of ups and downs but without any doubt at all I feel like Jossiah is apart
of our family and I have SO much love for him.
What a cute, sweet baby. I love carrying
him around in the baby Bjorn and dancing with him. He is just so snuggly and cute. We are so blessed. We took him to the doctor in Long Beach
because I was worried about his skin flaking off. She told me it was perfectly normal, she told
me he is gaining weight and growing fast.
He is perfectly healthy!!

Jossiah
Crosby and I had just left the Zoo. We meet George and Tiffany for the morning; after we were headed to REI to look at the standup paddleboards for the boating trip. Aaron kept calling, so I hurried and called him back. He told me that a Birthmom in California had just delivered a baby boy, she was in Long Beach at the hospital. He told me that she picked us and wanted us to come get the baby. I was instantly excited and scared. Aaron told me that he was going to come home from work and we were going to leave around 5:00. This was a Wednesday and we usually pick up Olivia from school, so we picked her up and started packing. Aaron got home and we loaded the car, dropped Olivia off and started our way to St. George. We got to St. George late and found a hotel.
The next morning we left early and drove straight to the hospital. We did stop at the grocery store and got the Birth Mom a really pretty orchid. I was so nervous and Crosby didn’t know what was going on. We told him that we were visiting a friend in the hospital. When we got there we went straight to the room and meet Jalaura and her cousin Peechez. They asked us a lot of questions about us and our relationship and Crosby. The baby was so adorable, I just wanted to hold him. They finally offered to let me hold him and I was instantly in love. Jalaura had a really hard time and wasn’t sure she what she wanted to do but eventually left the hospital. We waited for her to leave and Crosby started asking questions. He was so excited but we warned him that this was his maybe brother and maybe he would have to go back to his Birthmom. For right now we were going to help her out and watch him until she decided a few things. So hard for a five year old to understand, I still have a hard time understanding everything.
Well the next few weeks were filled with a lot of ups and downs. Jalaura picked the name Jossiah Tee Day because she has a 2 and a half-year-old named Mossiah and his middle name is Tee as well. We never meet Jalaura again after the hospital, she had an aunt pass away and wanted some time. I sure hope she wants an open adoption. I would love to get to know her. I love the choice she made for her son, financially and mentally she couldn’t handle a brand new baby right now. I sure hope we can make her proud. We are already so in love with Jossiah we can’t even stand it!
After the hospital we stayed one night in Long Beach and then headed to Palm Springs. It was so hot. Crosby and I went swimming a couple of times a day, to stay cool. After the week was over we headed back to the San Deigo area and stayed right by Legoland. We got a three day pass and had so much fun! Then we went to Escondido and stayed a week at the Lawrence Welk. It was so fun to stay in a hotel with our family and be with Aaron so much. He worked from the hotel, so glad that he thought to grab his work computer on the way out. It was such a bitter sweet month. So many emotions filled with so much anxiety. We are so blessed that Jossiah is apart of our family. Crosby is an amazing big brother. Life is pretty awesome!
